Testimonials

Molly is 13 year old and pre verbal. Her verbal usage is minimal. This has led to a lot of frustration and self injurious behaviour due to frustration with lack of communication.
We have tried Pecs, aac device and now spelling as a means of communication. We couldn't believe the spelling of words Molly came out with from the first day. I don't know if we knew she knew her alphabet before this first day never mind the amount of words that were in her little head. Now she is learning to spell out stories. This week was her second one. To say we were amazed is an understatement. This allows our daughter to start to show us her personality as well as her interest. To see just how intelligent she is is remarkable and to know that there may finally be a way for her to speak her voice is mind blowing. Colleen's work with Molly and myself and my husband has been invaluable. Recently she worked with one of Mollys therapists which opened their eyes as well to Mollys capabilities. Thank you so much

Colleen is an exceptional special education teacher who truly sees the potential in every child she works with. She has a rare ability to look beyond challenges and recognise what a child can achieve, and then gently but confidently brings them to that place. Her approach is not only nurturing but purposeful—she nourishes each child's development with patience, understanding, and genuine care. What sets Colleen apart is her ambition for the children in her care. She holds high expectations, but they are always grounded in her deep knowledge, experience, and professional expertise. She doesn't just believe in progress—she knows how to make it happen, using the right strategies and supports to help each child succeed in their own way. She also places huge value on the relationship with parents, recognising that they know their child best. She works in true partnership, listening, communicating openly, and building trust, which makes an enormous difference to both the child and their family. Colleen is the kind of teacher every child deserves—someone who believes in them, understands them, and has both the heart and the skill to help them thrive.
